Founded by Guy and Jean Richardson in 1989, the training centre is located in Formby, between Liverpool and Southport on the border of Merseyside and West Lancashire, North West England, UK. West Lancs Canine Centre is situated in 7 acres of secure, floodlit dog training grounds, extensively modernised in 2002, with a new indoor dog training area.
Run by Craig Richardson we invite you train your dog at the centre. We offer a comprehensive range of K9 training services, see Services Available at West Lancs Canine Centre 2010.

Craig has worked as a full time professional dogtrainer, dog behaviourist / dog behaviour therapist for many years. He offers dog behaviour counselling / dog behavioural therapy / dog training at his clinics at West Lancs Canine Centre and at the RSPCA Animal Shelter at Halewood, Liverpool. If you have a problem dog give Craig a call. He is renowned for his ability to assist dog owners deal with inter-dog and inter-human aggression.
Chief Instructor Sharon Butler is head veterinary nurse at a local veterinary surgery and first came along to West Lancs Canine Centre in 1992 with her beautiful cross bred bitch called Jodie. She has been a display team member since 1993. She possesses a wealth of dog training experience. Sharon has twice passed instructors courses with the British Institute of Professional Dog Trainers, achieving a second grade honours pass on her first course and a pass on her second course, at the first grade.
Instructor Joanne Brannan has attended her instructor training course at the British Institute of Professional Dog Trainers and achieved an honours pass at the second grade. Joanne has been a loyal member of the West Lancs Dog Display Team for nearly 10 years and has proved herself as an excellent handler and is now passing on her experience to our training class members.
West Lancs Canine Centre has been featured on ITV's 'Potty About Pets' when a seven week series followed the progress of six puppies under Craig's dad, Guy's instruction. Several years ago six junior members of the training centre appeared live on ' Blue Peter'. Over the years several dogs trained at the centre have appeared in films and on television.
The Centre is the home training ground of the West Lancs Dog Display Team who have appeared at major events all around the UK. The team assist animal charities and childrens charitable organisations in Merseyside to raise funds by organising fun dog shows.

a weekend or a longer holiday and want extra special care and attention with a difference for your dog, give us a call. All dogs in our care stay overnight in a normal family environment with their own personal carer. All our dog care services are fully licensed by Sefton Council.
